Our Primary School is located in the north Banat (20km
from Kikinda), Vojvodina, and is the one of the smallest primary school in the
area and houses approximately 80 pupils. Situated in a peaceful setting, three
hundred meters from the historic village church, the school has offered a unique
place for the education of the children of the area for more than 150 years.
It is our firm belief that a stimulating environment will help to inspire
positive attitudes to school work. For this reason you will find the school
clean, bright and attractive and full of displays. The displays we intend to be
of interest to all children, parents and visitors. We are
very much aware of being a "village school" and aim to be the centre of our
community. We aim to be a friendly, open school where parents and indeed other
members of the community are welcome. We intend everyone within our community to
think of us as their school whether or not they have children here.

PHYSICAL FEATURES
The school has six classrooms,
Library, Student Support Room, Gym and Media Center. The school was extended
during 1987 providing a 2 new classrooms and a Gym with a Showers. Our grounds
feature a well grassed, playground area, a separate play-equipment and asphalt
areas, including volleyball, handball and basketball courts. Large trees provide
ample shade in the summer months and our garden feature many beautiful plants.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
We have many
plans this year to promote and improve our children’s skills, in many different
areas of the curriculum and their social development. Our aim is to take each
pupil to the limits of their abilities. We aim to provide every opportunity that
may be offered by a large school and combine to this with the detailed knowledge
and interest in reach individual that can only be fully achieved within a small
school.
We set and expect high standards in behavior, respect,
politeness and consideration. This expectation we stress, applies equally to
relationships between pupils as it does to the relationships between children
and adults.
We stress pride in achievement and reward effort. We
encourage children to be curious, to think and apply knowledge, to be confident
and competent in communication with others.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Information to parents is provided through weekly consultations, questionnaires,
formal parent - teacher interviews and the opportunity to contact the school
whenever necessary. Parents are welcome partners at “Bratstvo-jedinstvo” Primary
School - opportunities exist for participation in school life through membership
of our School Council or Parent's Group.
